Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

RHT: Reading Habit Tracker keeps your reading life on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Your reading data is never uploaded anywhere by us. The app makes exactly two kinds of network requests, described below.

Your Reading Data

Book Search (Open Library)

When you search for a book, the text of your search is sent to Open Library (openlibrary.org, a project of the Internet Archive) to find matches, and book covers are fetched from covers.openlibrary.org. Like any web request, these include your IP address. They include nothing about you or your reading history, and RHT attaches no identifiers. If you never use search, no request is made. See the Internet Archive's privacy policy.

App Updates

To deliver bug fixes between store releases, the app checks Expo's update service (EAS Update, operated by Expo) for a newer version of its code, automatically at launch and when you tap "Get the latest bug fixes" in Settings. These requests include technical details needed to serve the right update: platform, app runtime version, and update channel. They include no personal data and none of your reading data. See Expo's privacy policy.

Notifications

The optional daily reminder is a local notification scheduled entirely on your device. Notification content never leaves your device.

Analytics and Advertising

None. RHT contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
